The ideal investment for women? A loan secured by real estate
May 19, 2026 For investors | News
Women and men approach investing differently. In general, women take fewer risks and prefer investments with a fixed return. However, savings accounts and term deposits at banks are no longer even able to beat inflation, which is why women are increasingly replacing them with higher-yield investments in loans secured by real estate.
While men are often more willing to take on greater risk when growing their savings in order to achieve higher returns, women tend to be more cautious. This approach stems from their desire to avoid potential financial loss and protect the family from money-related problems. “For women, family security is a priority, which is why they try to maintain a sufficient financial reserve for unforeseen situations. In recent years, however, inflation has convinced them that saving alone is not enough. That is why more and more women are becoming interested in investing. In our experience, they are especially interested in secured investments with a fixed return,” says David Jukl, representative of the Bondster platform.
Money kept in the bank is losing value in real terms
Savings accounts and term deposits are legally insured up to the equivalent of EUR 100,000. In the event of financial problems at a bank or credit union, savers have the certainty that they will not lose deposits up to this amount. Another advantage of a savings account is high liquidity – the money can be withdrawn at any time without penalties. However, these benefits come at the cost of low interest, which in the long term does not even cover inflation. The real value of savings therefore continues to decline over time.
Tip: Did you know that average annual inflation since 1994 has reached 4.2%? If you do not want your savings to lose value, you need to achieve a return that beats inflation.

At present, interest rates on the best savings accounts are around 4% per year. Fixed deposits with a two-year notice period are slightly worse, offering interest rates in the range of 2% to 2.5%.
Longer-term fixed deposits suggest the direction interest rates are likely to take in the coming months and years – a gradual decline back to pre-pandemic levels is expected.
Secured investments with fixed returns above 10%
There are now far more profitable ways to grow savings in the market. A high degree of security and an attractive fixed return are offered by investments in loans secured by real estate. On Bondster, these have been offered for many years by the Czech financial company ACEMA Credit Czech.
David Jukl adds: “The interest rates offered on these investments typically exceed 10% per year, while also providing a high degree of security. The loans are secured by real estate located in the Czech Republic. Investors have a solid basis. The market value of the property significantly exceeds the amount of the loan granted, which is confirmed by the low LTV ratio. If the loan is not repaid over the long term, the pledged property is sold and the investors’ claims are satisfied from the proceeds.”
Another advantage of real-estate-backed loans is the low entry amount. You can regularly invest from as little as CZK 100 or EUR 5, making investing accessible to a wide audience. Bondster operates as a marketplace where verified providers offer already financed loans. Investments in these loans start earning interest immediately, which is a major difference compared with crowdfunding platforms, where interest begins only after the full amount needed to finance the project has been raised.
