Bondster Score: A Quick Compass for Selecting Loan Originators
June 25, 2026 For investors | News
At Bondster, we continuously work to ensure that investors have access not only to a broad range of investment opportunities but also to tools that help them navigate those opportunities more effectively. One such tool is Bondster Score – an internal indicator that compares loan originators on the platform based on selected financial and operational parameters. The score is expressed on a scale from 0 to 100 points, with a higher score generally indicating a stronger combination of the evaluated factors.
Bondster Score is not an investment recommendation and does not constitute a credit rating within the meaning of regulations governing rating agencies. Instead, it serves as an additional comparison tool designed to help investors quickly understand how individual loan originators perform in key areas. Its purpose is not to replace an investor’s own judgment but to make decision-making more transparent and complement the information available for each investment opportunity on the platform.
What Bondster Score Is Based On
Bondster Score is built on four core pillars. The first is profitability, which reflects a loan originator’s ability to generate profits and maintain long-term financial health. The second is portfolio quality, which examines factors such as repayment performance and the share of loans in arrears. The third area is liquidity and capital, measuring the financial stability and resilience of the loan originator. The fourth pillar is reporting transparency, assessing both the quality of the information provided and the timeliness of reporting.
Each category has a predefined weight in the overall score. Portfolio quality carries the highest weight at 35% of the final score. Profitability accounts for 30%, liquidity and capital for 25%, while reporting transparency represents the remaining 10%. The calculation is fully automated, reproducible, and based on historical data and publicly available information about the loan originator.
What Bondster Score Evaluates in Practice
In practice, Bondster Score considers factors such as a loan originator’s ability to generate profits, the overall size and stability of earnings, portfolio quality, capital adequacy, and the timeliness of reporting. The model also takes into account the nature of the loan portfolio, as short-term, medium-term, and long-term loans behave differently and should be evaluated accordingly. For example, with short-term loans, capital may be recycled several times throughout the year, and the model is designed to reflect this characteristic.
An important feature of Bondster Score is that it does not focus on a single metric. Instead, it evaluates a broader combination of indicators. Therefore, a higher score does not necessarily mean that a loan originator excels in every area. Rather, it indicates that the originator achieves a stronger overall combination of results across the quantitative factors being assessed compared to other loan originators on the platform.
Why Bondster Score Helps Investors
Investing in loans is ultimately about working with information. Bondster Score has therefore been designed as a quick reference tool that enables investors to compare loan originators using a consistent methodology. Some investors focus primarily on profitability, while others place greater emphasis on portfolio quality, stability, or transparency. Bondster Score helps investors quickly identify the strengths and weaker areas of individual loan originators according to these criteria.
Internal comparisons across platform partners show that scores vary considerably, highlighting significant differences in financial performance, portfolio quality, and reporting standards among loan originators. This is precisely why Bondster Score should not be viewed as a standalone verdict, but rather as a practical compass that complements the other information available for each investment opportunity.
What Bondster Score Is Not
Bondster Score is not a credit rating, not an investment recommendation, and not a prediction of future performance. It is based exclusively on a quantitative model that uses predefined calculations without qualitative assessments or discretionary analytical intervention. The score is also updated regularly as new data becomes available, helping it reflect the most current situation of individual loan originators as accurately as possible. Bondster Score is therefore not a shortcut to making investment decisions. It is a tool designed to provide investors with greater clarity, better transparency, and a simpler way to compare loan originators across the entire platform.
